WhoamAI ("we", "us", or "our") is a personality-matching application that uses artificial intelligence to compare your personality to fictional characters. We are committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about how your data is handled.
By using our service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Quiz answers: Your responses to personality questions are sent directly to our AI providers (OpenAI and/or DeepSeek) to generate your match. These answers are processed in real time and are not stored on our servers.
Match results: Your final personality profile and character matches are saved anonymously in our database (Supabase) so you can share your results with a unique link. No name, email, or account is attached.
Usage metrics: We log the quiz mode you selected and token counts (a measure of AI processing cost) for internal analytics and cost management. These logs do not contain your quiz answers or personal identity.
Challenge data: If you create or accept a challenge, the anonymous result IDs of both participants are linked so the comparison can be displayed. No personal identifiers are stored.
OpenAI: Processes your quiz answers to generate personality questions and character matches. Their privacy policy is available at openai.com/policies/privacy-policy.
DeepSeek: May process your quiz answers as an alternative AI provider. Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.
Supabase: Hosts our database where anonymous match results and usage metrics are stored. Their privacy policy is available at supabase.com/privacy.
Google AdSense: If advertising is enabled, Google may use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to our site or other sites. You can opt out of personalized advertising by visiting Google Ads Settings.
We do not set tracking cookies ourselves. If Google AdSense is enabled, third-party cookies may be used for ad personalization. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and Google offers additional controls at adssettings.google.com.
We use local browser storage only to remember your visual theme preference (galaxy mode). This stays on your device and is never transmitted to our servers.
Quiz answers are not retained on our servers — they are processed in memory and discarded after generating your match.
Anonymous match results are stored indefinitely so share links remain valid. You may request deletion of a specific result by contacting us with its share link identifier.
Usage metric logs (mode and token counts) are retained for analytics purposes and do not contain personal data.
Our service is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will take steps to delete it.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of your anonymous match result. Since we do not collect personal identifiers, we can only locate your data if you provide the share link identifier.
You may use the service without providing any personal information. No account, email, or name is required.
We use industry-standard practices to protect data in transit (HTTPS/TLS) and at rest. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting the updated policy on this page with a revised "last updated" date.
